From our frontline service centre to Director level, our business is built on a core of the longest-serving, most dedicated and innovative people in the industry. Those people, and the relationships they’ve built up over the years, are what set us apart and ensure that we have remained the market leaders in Ireland for the last 4 decades.
Liam Lonergan
Managing Director
Liam is the Owner and Founder of Club Travel. Liam was one of the founding members of Ryanair and also operated his own airline, Club Air in the mid 1980's. He was the Chairman of the Guild of Business Travel Agents and also served on the board of the ITAA. In 2011 he was awarded Irish Entrepreneur of the Year.
Colman Burke
Director
Colman has over 35 years’ experience in Corporate and Retail travel, starting as a business travel consultant with Club Travel over 30 years ago. He was promoted to Sales and Operations Manager of Virgin Atlantic Ireland when Club Travel became the GSA and he also established the Wholesale-Consolidator arm of Club Travel. He has been a Director since 2005.
Sheila McCarthy
General Manager
Sheila has over 40 years’ experience in the Travel Industry starting with Tara Travel before moving to Apollo Travel as Agency Manager in 1988. Sheila joined the management team of BTI Ireland as Director of Operations in 1995 before being appointed as General Manager of Club Travel Corporate in 2005 when BTI were acquired by Club. Today, Sheila is responsible for the delivery of Corporate Travel Services and the 90+ staff employed in this area.
Tom Burke
Head of IT
With 18 years’ service at Club Travel, Tom has been Head of IT for the last 15 years, now leading a team of over 20 staff including the set up of a satellite office in Brazil. Covering all aspects of IT - Development / Security / Network Administration - Tom ensures that Club Travel remains at the forefront of travel technology and continues to maintain its high standards across all business units.
Shaun McGroarty
Financial Controller
Founder and Director of Firecrest until 2002 when it was acquired by ICON. Shaun moved to Twohigs Worldwide Travel where he acted as CFO and a Director until moving to Club Travel in 2011 as Financial Controller.
Carl Lonergan
Business Development Manager
Carl has been working for Club Travel Corporate for over 10 years having started in our consolidator department before moving on to Corporate Account Management and then taking on the role of Business Development Manager in 2016. Carl works with existing clients to develop their travel programme as well as helping new clients achieve their business goals and bring value to their travel programme.
